Privacy Policy
This privacy policy explains what information The Water Model collects, how it is used, and your rights regarding that information.

What we collect and why
Information you provide directly
When you book a conversation through TidyCal, we collect your name, email address, and any information you provide in the booking form. This is used solely to conduct the conversation and follow up afterwards.
When you subscribe to email updates, we collect your email address via Resend. This is used to send articles and updates. We do not sell, rent, or share your email address with third parties.
When you contact us by email, we collect the information you include in your message.
Information collected automatically
When you visit the site, standard server logs may record your IP address, browser type, referring URL, and pages visited. We use this information to understand how the site is used and to improve it.
We use Google Analytics and Vercel Analytics to understand how the site is used. Both services may collect data including IP addresses, browser type, referring URLs, and pages visited. Google Analytics data is processed in accordance with Google’s privacy policy. Vercel Analytics data is processed in accordance with Vercel’s privacy policy. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
We use a Meta (Facebook) Pixel to build audiences for potential future advertising campaigns. This pixel may collect data about your visit, including pages viewed and actions taken. No advertising campaigns are currently active. You can opt out of Meta’s data collection.
Cookies
Vercel Analytics does not use cookies; it uses a privacy-preserving approach that does not require cookie consent under most jurisdictions.
Google Analytics 4 uses cookies to distinguish users and sessions. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
The Meta Pixel sets cookies to identify returning visitors for potential future advertising purposes. You can manage your Meta cookie preferences.
Third-party services embedded in the site—including TidyCal for booking—may set their own cookies subject to their own privacy policies.
How we use your information

We do not currently use your information for active advertising or profiling. The Meta Pixel on this site collects data for potential future advertising purposes only—no campaigns are currently running. We do not sell your data.
Email communications
If you subscribe to email updates, you can unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email we send. We use Resend to manage email delivery. Read the Resend privacy policy for details.

The Water Model uses the following third-party services that may process personal data:
Data retention
We retain booking information for 12 months after your conversation. We retain email subscriber data until you unsubscribe. We retain email correspondence for 24 months.
International transfers
The Water Model is operated from San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. Our service providers (Vercel, Google, Meta, TidyCal) operate servers in multiple jurisdictions, including the United States. By using this site, your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own.
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Australia, you may have additional rights under local data protection laws. Contact hello@thewatermodel.com to discuss how we can accommodate your requirements.
Children’s privacy
This site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, contact hello@thewatermodel.com, and we will delete it promptly.
Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights including:
Australia (Privacy Act 1988): Access to personal information we hold about you, correction of inaccurate information, and complaint lodgment with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
European Union / UK (GDPR / UK GDPR): Access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and the right to object. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
California (CalOPPA / CCPA): The right to know what personal information is collected, the right to delete, and the right to opt out of sale (we do not sell personal information).

Changes to this policy
We will update this policy when our data practices change. The date at the top of this page reflects when it was last reviewed. Continued use of the site after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
